well playing devils advocate, we could just update SMP to 1.21, expand the map so people don't have to worry about pieray and just build far enough that would also make me happy

Yeah. Most every minecraft server resets eventally. I know alot of people don't want to reset cause they will lose everything but when it comes down to it... its just a bunch of minecraft items, you can always get more of those. One of the most popular smps resets every year and everyone is okay with that.

A while ago I heard MrEpic say the world size was like... 2 terabytes. It's prob way more than that now. If he reset the world it would be alot cheaper for him to run the server and it would attract alot of new players. Like... pretty much every smp server resets and i'm sure there is a good reason behind it.
